Halftone Text Effect with Photoshop CS3
If you haven't done it already, download three free sample patterns.
Step 1: Type a text.
Step 2: ctrl-click the type layer and convert it to a Smart Object. Apply a Gaussian Blur filter to the type layer.
Step 3: Just like in the previous tutorials add a Pattern Fill Adjustment Layer and apply one of my Classical Halftone Patterns. Set the Blend Mode to Hard Mix and there it is the fully editable halftone text effect.
Optional step 4: Colorize the text by adding a Color Fill Adjustment Layer with Blend Mode set to Screen.
To change the text double click the type layer. Edit the text of the Smart Object file (Use Image > Canvas size to increase the canvas if neccessary) and save and close the Smart Object file.
Everything remains editable.
